We understand that it can be difficult to ask for support.

There should never be shame in asking for support. The Tiger Wellness Team, Health Office, counselors, teachers, and admin are all here to help! Below are some additional resources offered and information on how to access them. Everything is free and only takes a conversation to access. Please reach out to any of our staff for more information.

TIGER RESOURCES

Tiger Boutique and Haberdashery

The Tiger Boutique was created to serve GJHS and is completely free to students! They are stocked with necessities such as clothing, coats, shoes, bags, jewelry, personal hygiene items, and even some school supplies. They are located upstairs next to counselors' office and are open after school and during lunch hours.

Nutrition Needs

GJHS offers multiple resources for additional food needs, one of which is the Kids Aid Backpack Program.  The program bridges the weekend hunger gap for children by sending home bags full of non-perishable foods. These are offered in the Health Office which is located in Commons Area across from the cafeteria.

Additionally, thanks to the passage of Healthy School Meals for All, student meals are free. Grab-N-Go snacks are available at cafeteria and Health Office throughout the day.

There is also a food drive hosted at GJHS in the staff parking lot every 3rd Tuesday of the month. There is no pre-registration needed- just show up, sign in, and take what is needed. Please contact Health Office for more details.

Showers and Laundry Services

We understand that you may not always have access to showers, laundry services, or even showering supplies. Grand Junction High School can help!  If you need assistance, please reach out to GJHS Health Office, your counselor, or the Tiger Wellness Center staff.

REACH- Resources, Education, and Advocacy for Children who are Homeless

REACH is a school-based program that responds to the needs of students in temporary or transitional housing situations. Resources include assisting families with school enrollment, birth certificates, transportation, supplies, and connecting with other community resources.
